James Ndlovu is a Johannesburg-based visual artist with African roots,currently residing in Kempton Park. He is a printmaking artist trained at ArtistProof Studio, where he completed his studies and a four year internshipprogramme. His practice is rooted in painting and printmaking, engaging withthemes of identity, heritage, and migration through process driven andmaterial based approaches.

Ndlovu has participated in several group exhibitions, including the Artist ProofStudio Third Year Exhibition, August House group exhibitions, the University ofJohannesburg’s FADA Gallery, and the Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2025. Hiswork has been recognised with the Umsizinopende People’s Choice Award,acknowledging both public engagement and artistic merit. As an emergingartist, Ndlovu continues to develop a research-led practice that reflects onpersonal and collective histories within a contemporary South Africancontext.
